After downloading KiCAD for your operating system here, double click on the downloaded file. You will be asked whether you want to import settings from a different version of KiCAD or whether you want to start with the default settings. Click "default settings", then click "OK".
After it has finished installing, launch the program. On the startup screen click the "Plugin and Content Manager" icon.
Install KiKit, Fabrication Toolkit, pcb-action-tools, and the PCBWay Plug-in.
When they all have finished installing, close KiCAD and reopen it.
The "Installed" tab of the "Plugin and Content Manager" should look like this:
KiCad is now set up and ready for you to use!
